Renaissance and Baroque recorders

recorder—soprano (Renaissance)

Renaissance soprano recorder with its relatively plain profile, seven fingerholes and one thumbhole on its backside. Its bore tapers from the mouthpiece to the bell.

 

recorder—soprano (Baroque)

Baroque soprano recorder made of wood. Baroque recorders have a more ornate exterior profile than Renaissance recorders and usually come in three sections. The bore tapers from mouthpiece to bell. The lowest fingerhole is a composite one, with two small holes.
